A Unique Holiday Cottage
ABOUT
Shaftoe Mews House is a traditional country home with a contemporary design. This unique holiday house is located in a private gated court yard, based in the centre of Haydon Bridge, a country village which sits upon the river Tyne in the heart of rural Northumberland.

Located just 3 minutes from Langley Castle, 5 minutes from the Roman Wall, 10 minutes from the market town of Hexham and 35 minutes from the hustle and bustle of Newcastle Upon Tyne or Carlisle. Shaftoe Mews House is the ideal rural retreat, with peace and tranquility, an abundance of tourist attractions and the convenience of surrounding towns and cities.

One of the things that makes this a unique holiday house is the abundance of modern and traditional original artworks throughout the house, all of which are created by local artists and many are for sale.

THE HOUSE
A deceptively large stone property originally the loading bay of the old cooperative society shop, dated 1869.

The interior has a contemporary open plan ground floor with exposed beams throughout and a feature stone fireplace in the living room. The kitchen and dinning area is spacious with ample cooking facilities, a traditional walk-in pantry and a table to banquet ten.

On the first floor there are three double bedrooms, one with ensuite and a family bathroom.

The second floor is a large open plan attic bedroom with exposed beams.
​
Outside is a shared courtyard with a raised pond, a wood store for logs and fuel and one parking space (additional free spaces can be found on the adjoining street).

We have four double bedrooms, ideally suited for families or large groups.

Kitchen

For the culinary minded, we have a large oven with six gas hobs, a large fridge, chest freezer and pantry.

We provide the child friendly extras; cot, fireguard and high-chair on request.

One court yard space and lots of free on-street parking on the adjoining street.
